About Me

I was born in Groningen, the Netherlands, and grew up in Leek, 10 miles from my birthplace. After my studies in tourism, I decided it was time to broaden my horizons and lived in several countries, among which France, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, the United States. Now I live in Nottingham, UK, with my husband Marc and cat Leija. My career path has changed, I now work in the IT industry as a Service Desk Analyst and spend my days tinkering about with computers.

My hobbies are (digital) photography, webdesign and genealogy: I am researching my family history and my husband's family history as well. Before I moved to the UK, I could be found taking photos in nature reserves like the Fochteloerveen and the Norgerholt, in the Netherlands, as well as the zoo in Emmen, the Netherlands. Her love for nature speaks through most of her photographs - Hilde's main interest is photographing flowers (macro), animals and landscapes.

Nowadays, you may also find me in botanical gardens and nurseries, nature reserves, the city of Nottingham etc.
